The Cat Sith (also known as the Cat Sidhe) is a large, black, spectral cat mentioned in both Scottish and Irish folklore. In some legends it is a fairy creature, while in others it is a transformed witch. The legends may be based upon Kellas Cats, which are a hybrid between domestic cats and European Wildcats. 

Weird, I always thought most faerie animals were white with red ears/eyes….Gonna have to dig up some sources on this one.

Another fairy cat, the Graymalkin, is gray.
